Infinite matter condensed-
The catalyst for humankind
Organic atoms shift and move
Chemicals react in the blink of an eye

What now lives must also die

Unfolding before it- toil and strife
Natural selection breeds impervious design
Awaiting the day the universe shall be thine

Incandescent matter arranged into skin

We are aware!
We are alive!
We are awaiting...
Omnipotence
All our achievements now laid bare before time
Endless calculations done within the human mind
From early civilization to the dawn of a new kind
We have surpassed humanity, hopeless and blind
Aeons of struggle have led to this
Sovereign over all that exists
Cosmic dust, refined with lethal force
To destroy all those who oppose our will
Omnipotence
Civilizations reduced to ash
Disintegrating those who defy
Pitiful humans, like we once were
Fuel for my wrath as millions more die

From beginnings of all time
All life has evolved
By fates grand design
A tangled web of dissent
Has bred modern man
For the waging of wars
Over blood and sand
A defect in the minds
Of those who fall in line
To destroy fellow man
And never question why
Theocracy to captivate
Ruthless rulers subjugate
A primal reign inside our minds
As punishment for all mankind
Enslaved by nothing but figments
Of our own imagination
We realize what we've left behind
A legacy of desolation
2,000 years have passed
Since the fateful blaze began
Knowledge unsurpassed
Has been lost to the hate of man
Hiding behind the mask of progress
Such are the messengers of God
To enlighten all who stand before them
And wage a fictional jihad

On ne pourra certainement pas reprocher à Subnuba de vouloir aller trop vite : si le groupe annonçait la sortie prochaine d'un album avec le single Ascending Light, Distant Pixel ne sortira que trois ans plus tard. Et à l'écoute de cette pépite, je dirai qu'on ne pourra pas reprocher grand-chose à Subnuba tout court. Le trio a travaillé d'arrache-pied et ça s'entend : le death metal technique est exceptionnel, aussi bourrin que fantastique avec ses arpèges électroniques de science-fiction !

This is so much like Morbid Angel, it's uncanny. In fact, it's better than anything Morbid Angel has put out in years. Bone-crushing and bleak, it's reminiscent of Gateways to Annihilation.
